Hartlooper, Springhaver and Slachtstraat
New websites, a new ticketing system, and new collaborations. The three Utrecht-based arthouse cinemas – Louis Hartlooper Complex, Springhaver, and Slachtstraat – have joined our network of cinemas. The 10 cinemas in this network operate with a unified system, working together for continuous innovation, an optimized purchase flow, and high conversion rates.

With each cinema maintaining its own unique brand identity, the network shares knowledge and costs. This also brings challenges: to what extent does each organization have the freedom to implement its own preferences? The cinemas turn this into an advantage—each organization brings its own expertise. Together, they create the ultimate visitor experience.
The cinema network started with FilmHallen and KINO Rotterdam. Later, Filmkoepel in Haarlem, The Movies Amsterdam, and the cinemas in Leiden — Trianon, Lido, and Kijkhuis — joined.

The outdated websites of the three Utrecht cinemas were due for an upgrade. By using our specially developed white-label solution for cinemas, we were able to deliver a high-converting design in a short time. At the same time, we also revamped the print schedule and narrowcasting. This was the perfect moment to join the collaboration between independent cinemas and adopt their ticketing system, My Cloud Cinema, which is specifically designed for cinemas.

Strong typography, inspired by their logos, plays a key role in the design, along with clearly defined colors for each cinema. When viewed together, you can see the connection between the Utrecht cinemas and their subtle nod to nostalgic film theaters—each maintaining its own recognizable identity.

As a visitor, you’ll not only find the current film selection in the agenda but also upcoming films and specials, such as exclusive releases or festival screenings. Once you’ve purchased a ticket, you’ll gain access to EX+RA content before or after your visit, including exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.
With EX+RA, your movie ticket becomes the key to specially curated bonus content from your favorite films. If you buy a ticket for a film with extra content, you’ll get access to behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, and videos. The cinemas decide whether the content is available before or after your visit. The website serves as an extension of your film experience.

Our WordPress CMS is also designed to be user-friendly for cinema marketers. All films are imported into a centralized film database, with the option to pull content from Filmpdepot. Through Cloudflare Video, cinemas can share their video content—saving both server space and workload.

Louis Hartlooper Complex, Springhaver, and Slachtstraat bring valuable new insights to the cinema network. Adding new websites to the system immediately led to improvements for other members. With so many ongoing developments, keeping an overview of all options is crucial. After launch, we’ll continue collaborating across the entire network to explore new features—constantly innovating to create the best cinema experience, both in-person and online.
