Anne Frank Foundation
The life story of Anne Frank is the foundation for education on the importace of freedom and equal rights for the Anne Frak foundation. The online learning tool Stories that Move encourages young people to think critically about diversity and discrimination through engaging content in an appealing format.
Stories that Move is an online learning tool that teachers can use for free. The tool icludes five learning paths with educational material, featuring both online and offline lessons for individual or group work.
In this user-friendly tool, Complex topics are presented in an accessible way through stimulating themes, videos, and interactive materials. For example, you can see how your own background and social bubble shape your perspective and that of others. With the lesson materials, teachers can engage in discussions about discrimination in the classroom.
Students have a short attention span and quickly lose interest if the user experience isn’t very easy. Stimulating content, an attractive interface, and a simple and effective flow are key.
The focus of the educational materials is on short videos in which young people share their own experiences, leading to insightful discussions

Our UX/UI specialists developed the design ad flow of the online learning tool. We used both offline and online user tests, which were introduces early in the process. For example, in 2019, we wet to Valencia to test and evaluate the tool in practice alongside staff from the Anne Frank Foundation.
The feedback led to improvements in structure, accessibility, and responsiveness. The tool is now available in eight languages and on a wide range of devices (from smartphones to interactive whiteboards). This makes Stories that Move accessible to as many students and teachers possible.
Together you are stronger. We worked on setting up this project for three years in collaboration with seven partners across Europe. With Stories that Move, we collectively won the prestigious Comenius EduMedia Medal with an honorable mention.
‘The jury hopes that the project will continue to 'move' people to – as the Dutch singer Bram Vermeulen once wrote – 'move a stone in the river'.
By complying with the WCAG guidelines, Stories that Move reaches even more students, making important topics like diversity and inclusion open for discussion.
We continue to develop: the latest version of the online learning tool also ticks off many points on the accessibility checklist. By using simple shapes and clear colors, the content is also readable and distinguishable for people with, for example, visual impairments.

Eagerly developed an interface for this online education platform with clear interaction and a technically flexible, secure, and easy-to-manage system. This results in a tool that is useful, simple, and undeniably clear for all users (teachers, students, and administrators).
A European-scale achievement that we, along with all our partners, have worked long and hard on – and continue to work on.
